Mixing takes place after everything is recorded and edited. The word "mixing"
means two different things in the context of audio recording:
1. adjusting the fader levels, balance, equalization, etc. so that the live sound is properly recorded in the first place
2. the art of turning the live sound you recorded into a finished, polished masterpiece that's ready to listen to

Mastering is the final stage in creating the finished product. It's the last chance to finalize the sound. Mastering
consists of processing the final mix in just two channels (stereo: left & right), EQ, Compression, Limiting, Stereo Imaging, Level, and more. Song order and CD track layout (and spacing) is also done during this stage.
